Whistleblower Exposes Elixir Smugglers to Red City's Council! | The Immortal Gazette

The Immortal Gazette studio was lit with the usual dramatic energy, the air thick with gossip and the weight of hidden truths. Alice lounged in her usual spot, her eyes glittering with amusement, while Loki stood casually in the corner, idly flipping a coin—because, of course, that’s just how he rolled. Rumple, on the other hand, was scribbling something fiercely on a scroll, occasionally muttering to himself about the latest mess in the Red City.

"Well, well, well," Alice started with a smirk, swirling her tea as she leaned forward. "It seems the Red City’s council has a little crisis on their hands. A whistleblower has just exposed a huge smuggling operation involving Elixirs of Immortality." She let the words hang in the air for dramatic effect, watching Loki’s intrigued glance.

Elixirs?” Loki raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “And they were smuggling them?”

Alice gave him an exaggerated shrug. “Yes, Loki. Imagine a black market where immortality is sold for the right price—without the red tape of royal permits, no less.”

Rumple looked up from his scroll with a scowl. “I say it’s a mess waiting to happen. If someone manages to get their hands on these Elixirs illegally, it could tip the entire balance of power in the Red City. Whoever's behind this is playing a dangerous game.”

Alice grinned, taking another sip of her tea. "Well, someone clearly didn’t mind the game. Our whistleblower is a very brave soul. They went straight to the council with proof of the operation. The Red City's elite will have to deal with this now."

Loki, ever the strategist, stepped closer. "I have a theory. It wasn’t just the council they were worried about. Someone must’ve been leaking information inside—maybe even within the council itself."

“Bingo!” Alice snapped her fingers. “Somehow, the council didn’t see it coming, but they should’ve. The smugglers always have a mole, darling. They’re as slick as oil and twice as hard to get rid of.”

Rumple leaned back, his lips curled into a small frown. “Who would be crazy enough to betray the Red City’s council, though? It’s one of the most secure places in 4EverMore.”

Alice chuckled darkly. “Oh, Rumple, when it comes to immortals, the greed for power always finds a way in. And let’s not forget, immortals aren’t known for their ability to keep their mouths shut when there’s profit involved.”

At this point, the details of the scandal began to unfold in Alice’s mind like a delicious conspiracy.

"It started with a small network of smuggling—just a handful of rogue dealers," she continued. "But then someone got greedy. They thought they could sell the Elixirs to the elite... without a proper permit, naturally."

Loki smiled to himself. "A smart, but ultimately doomed, plan."

“Oh, absolutely,” Alice agreed, tapping her chin. "They thought they could outsmart the council. But now the truth is out—thanks to this whistleblower, who apparently had quite a bit of evidence hidden away. You should’ve seen the look on the faces of the council members when they realized who was involved."

Rumple snorted. “Please, tell me one of them wasn’t related to the smugglers. Please.”

Alice leaned forward, her smile wide. “Oh, one of them was, in fact, related. How delightfully messy, right?”

Loki’s eyes gleamed with amusement. "Nothing like a little family drama. Honestly, I’d watch a reality show about this."

Rumple threw his hands up. “You two are impossible.”

Oh, you know it,” Alice quipped, her grin still in place. "The council’s reaction was... priceless. I can’t imagine the backroom deals that are about to happen now. Someone’s going to try to make this go away—either by paying it off or, knowing the Red City, eliminating the problem."

“Right,” Loki said, "And let’s not forget the fact that the smugglers probably have their own agenda—one that’s not entirely aligned with the Red City’s council."

Alice rolled her eyes dramatically. "Of course, they don’t have the same agenda. Why would they? It’s all a web of lies, power struggles, and delicious chaos. You’ve got the council trying to cover up their incompetence, the smugglers trying to expand their reach, and somewhere in the middle, this poor whistleblower risking everything for the truth."

Rumple sighed. "This is why I can’t stand the Red City. Nothing is ever simple. It’s always about secrets, manipulation, and a whole lot of shady deals."

Alice gave a sly smile. “That’s what makes it so fun, though. The game isn’t just about the Elixirs anymore. It’s about who will come out on top once all the secrets are exposed. The real question is—who’s going to be the next to fall from grace?”

Loki’s grin widened. "That, my dear Alice, is the best part."

As Alice leaned back, swirling her tea again, the chaos of the Red City seemed to wrap itself in another layer of twisted intrigue. The council would face a storm of political fallout from the whistleblower's revelations, and there was no telling how many more dirty secrets would come tumbling out of the shadows.

For now, though, the Immortal Gazette had captured just another chapter in the never-ending drama of 4EverMore—and this one was ripe with betrayal, black-market Elixirs, and immortal intrigue.
