New DayWalker Watchmen Recruits Experience Hilarious Training Mishap! | The Immortal Gazette

The Immortal Gazette studio was buzzing with its usual chaotic energy. Alice perched on her usual seat, her velvet-clad frame draped over the chair like royalty—if royalty had a tendency to mock everything around them. Loki was lounging nearby, looking as if he’d been born to be a part-time king and full-time troublemaker. Rumplestiltskin, however, was pacing again, muttering to himself in irritation.

“Alright, we are here to talk about the new recruits for the DayWalker Watchmen training,” Alice said, swirling her teacup with a grin. “The next generation of mystical warriors, guardians of the immortal realm, and, as it turns out, absolute disasters at first.”

Loki raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “I do enjoy watching the newbies squirm. It’s like seeing a new puppet show unfold.”

Rumple threw his hands up. “Squirm? Alice, these recruits are supposed to be elite. Elite warriors who can face off against the deadliest creatures in 4EverMore. Not... this.” He gestured wildly, clearly exasperated.

Alice stifled a laugh. “Oh, please, Rumple. You’re being dramatic. So what if a few recruits... misplaced their weapons? Or got caught in a net? Or accidentally triggered one of the magical traps that nearly caused a small dimensional collapse?”

Loki’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “I’d argue that almost causing a dimensional collapse is a right of passage. A lovely touch.”

Alice raised her teacup, as if toasting the chaos. “Exactly. I mean, who hasn’t accidentally triggered a trap that might open a rift to the Underworld? It’s practically a bonding experience.”

Rumple groaned. “Don’t even get me started on the new recruits’ ‘agility training.’” He glared at Alice. “Remember when you accidentally enchanted the floor to become a giant trampoline?”

Alice tilted her head, pretending to think. “Oh yes... that was hilarious.”

Hilarious?!” Rumple nearly choked. “I spent three hours trying to catch them as they bounced out of control across the training grounds.”

Loki snickered. “That sounds like a perfectly appropriate training exercise. Teaching them how to land.”

Alice shrugged. “At least it’s a lesson in teamwork—we’re all a bit of a mess, so why not teach them early?”

“I have never heard so many screams in my immortal life,” Rumple muttered, rubbing his temples. “The nets they got tangled in were supposed to be for practice... but instead, they got caught in them, flailing around like rabbits on fire.”

Alice chuckled. “A visual metaphor, if I ever saw one.”

Loki leaned in, clearly enjoying the chaos. “Did anyone get caught in the portal trap?”

Alice’s smile grew wider. “Oh, yes. One of them stepped into the wrong circle, and for a good twenty minutes, they were arguing with the illusionary version of their own reflection.”

Rumple’s face turned a deep shade of red. “I swear, if they keep getting distracted by illusions—”

Alice cut him off. “It’s called building resilience. And honestly, Loki, I think it’s high time we had more chaos in our training methods.”

Loki nodded sagely. “It certainly makes things more... interesting.”

Rumple flailed his arms in frustration. “We are training them to be highly skilled warriors, not... clowns.”

Alice leaned back with a wicked grin. “Oh, please, Rumple. They’ll become skilled warriors—eventually. If they don’t get stuck in one more trampoline induced coma or accidentally launch themselves into an alternate dimension by next week.”

“I’ve seen enough,” Rumple grumbled, crossing his arms. “I’m going back to my training grounds. You can keep your chaos circus.”

Alice smirked, watching as Rumple stalked off in the opposite direction. She turned to Loki, who was still clearly enjoying the spectacle. “Well, Loki, what’s your take on all of this?”

Loki’s grin was positively dangerous. “Oh, I’m just here to enjoy the show. Maybe I’ll have a word with the recruits. You know... give them a little guidance.”

Alice laughed darkly. “Ah, yes. Your brand of guidance.”

Loki smirked. “Of course. I’m all about subtle manipulation.”

And so, the Immortal Gazette studio carried on as always—chaotic, full of dark humor, and, in this case, a handful of very bouncy recruits. Training for the DayWalker Watchmen was anything but conventional. But as always, that was exactly how the immortals liked it.
