Enchanted Forest's Magical Fountain Now Dispenses Scented Rainbows! | The Immortal Gazette

Inside the Immortal Gazette studio, Alice lounged in her chair, a devilish grin playing at the corners of her lips as she casually flicked a strand of auburn hair behind her ear. Loki, as usual, leaned against the wall with that familiar, nonchalant air about him. Rumplestiltskin, though, was pacing—again—clearly irritated by the absurdity of the latest news.

“Alright,” Alice began, her voice laced with sarcasm, “this is so right up my alley. A magical fountain in the Enchanted Forest... now dispensing scented rainbows? Well, this just got interesting.”

Rumple shot her a glare. “You know, this is no laughing matter, Alice. The Enchanted Forest is a place of serious power, and now, this... a fountain of rainbows? It’s ridiculous!”

Loki raised a brow, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Actually, I think it’s kind of brilliant. A little over-the-top? Sure. But there’s something delightfully... chaotic about it.”

Alice grinned. “Oh, absolutely. Nothing screams ‘serious magical business’ like scented rainbows. What’s next, an enchanted waffle maker that only makes cloud-shaped waffles?”

Rumple groaned. “This isn’t a joke, Alice. The Enchanted Forest’s fountain is a long-standing magical relic, an ancient artifact tied to the balance of the realm. And now it’s... dispensing scented rainbows?”

Alice made a show of pretending to think deeply. “Hmm... scented rainbows. Let me guess: lavender and moonflower? Maybe a dash of fresh pine?” She winked at Loki, who suppressed a laugh.

“No, it’s worse than that,” Rumple snapped, finally sitting down, his face etched with concern. “It’s not just the rainbows—it’s the magic behind it. The scent is... volatile. Wild. Changing every hour. It’s messing with the enchantments all over the forest.”

Loki straightened up, clearly intrigued now. “What do you mean? How is a scented rainbow causing all this chaos?”

Alice tapped her chin, clearly enjoying the drama. “Oh, I can think of a few reasons. First off, this fountain was never meant to do anything remotely this... whimsical. It’s an ancient source of energy—pure, potent magic. So, of course, someone had the brilliant idea to tap into it and get something ‘fun’ for the forest. And here we are.”

Rumple nodded grimly. “Exactly. And the worst part is, every time the rainbow scent changes, it starts to affect the wildlife. The pixies are getting disoriented... the enchanted wolves are acting erratically... the very trees themselves are beginning to sway in odd patterns. Some of the creatures have even begun following the scent trails, leading them to dangerous areas.”

Loki raised an eyebrow. “Let me guess... things are starting to get out of hand in the Enchanted Forest?”

Alice flashed a grin. “You could say that. Imagine a bunch of hyperactive, enchanted creatures charging around, drunk on lavender-scented rainbows—the chaos is inevitable.”

Rumple rubbed his temples. “And there are factions within the forest that have always guarded the fountain. They’re not happy. The Green Witches are already up in arms, worried about what this means for the stability of the magic in the area. Not to mention the Forest Guardians who have been tasked with keeping the fountain in check.”

Alice snorted. “Oh, I’m sure they’re thrilled to have their jobs made harder by rainbows. I’m sure it’s exactly what they signed up for.”

“Funny,” Loki said with a grin, “because I bet it’s more fun than dealing with all those serious guardians who never let anyone have any fun. So, what’s the next step here? Will we see the rainbow-scented fountains spreading to other places? Perhaps rainbow mist in every magical forest? Could be a game-changer.”

Alice looked at Loki, then at Rumple, and let out a long, deliberate sigh. “Oh, I love the idea of that. Imagine enchanted flower petals drifting on the breeze, scented like roses, chocolate, and freedom. Why not? The world’s already upside down, might as well add a little more nonsense to the mix.”

Rumple gave her a pointed look. “It’s not nonsense. It’s dangerous. We’re talking about an artifact that’s been a stabilizing force for centuries. Who knows what could happen if someone messes with it too much?”

Alice rolled her eyes. “Please, Rumple. It’s only a small glitch in the system, nothing to get your feathers ruffled over. Maybe it’s time we embraced the chaos. I’m sure there’s someone—coughsomeone—who’s just itching to fix this little rainbow-induced problem. Or maybe we let it run its course. What’s the worst that could happen?

Loki chuckled. “Well, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. Chaos always finds a way.”

Rumple glared at Alice, who had now completely abandoned any pretense of seriousness. “If you’re not careful, Alice, that rainbow might be the least of your worries. The entire forest could collapse into chaos if this keeps up.”

“Well,” Alice said, finishing her tea with a satisfied sip, “at least it’ll be colorful.”

Loki laughed quietly, clearly entertained by Alice’s willingness to stir up trouble, and Rumple, well, his frown deepened even further.

As the story swirled through the studio, the looming question remained: Would the scented rainbow fountain be the thing that broke the Enchanted Forest—or would someone step up to fix this rainbow mess before things got too colorful?
